First Sunday After Easter

Last week we celebrated the empty tomb, we remembered that although the disciples had gone away from the cross on Friday with all their hope lost Heaven started to count to three.

Have you ever thought like the disciples that all is lost?  That there is no more hope. The disciples watched the man who they gave three years of their life to die on a cross.  The man who told them the secret but they didn't know it was true.  They doubted the idea of a resurrection. Three days that is all it took for them to give up all that they had worked for and the teaching they had been given.

My niece turns four this week and over Easter she spent some time with my mother in-law.  She has always had a good sense of humor and a strong will, she lives up to her name. She asked her father for another cookie but was told no.  She proceeded to announce that she was going to count to three and then eat the cookie.  So she did.  One ... Two... Three... cookie was eaten.

I think that is what God was doing. Counting before the goodness.  One... He is laid in the tomb... Two... Rest.... Three... Rise my Son!

"The way we love difficult people is the best proof the tomb's as empty as we've been saying it is."
